What is meant by a Swampy *DUAL Air Conditioner
System?
All of our "Ice Water" models feature our reliable heat
exchanger just like the evaporators in refrigerated systems. Ice
water is pumped through the heat exchanger at the rate of hundreds
of gallons per hour, then the hot ambient air moves through the
heat exchanger and is conditioned into cold healthy air. In addition
we introduced Dual cooling in all our "Ice Water" models
(except the AC12) to help reduce temperatures even further. We
engineered our tried and proven Evaporative System into each one
of these Models. Some Evaporation is always available even in
the most humid conditions.
The Dual models help eliminate the discomfort
you experience with humidity as long as you are using Ice as in
fact these models automatically dispose of the condensation collected.
These seven Dual models are always desirable in humid areas
and also in dry climates when colder air is desired. Using the
evaporative principle these Dual models will also cool
using just water when the air is dryer, making them the premium
choice in 12-volt Air Conditioning. The eight "Ice Water"
Models that contain the Dual System are the MightyKool
M200, M400, MK3, MK4, MAC
& MG3. The Swampy
Models are the IM20 & IM30.

Which is the
best 12-volt Model to Choose?
A: The MightyKool MW1 Evaporative
Cooler is always the choice for boaters and campers when cooling
and small size is needed in dry climates. The MAC
will be the most popular for all general uses in either humid
or dry climates for all the uses you can think of if you have
room for an ice chest with the built in MightyKool System.
B: The M400 or MK3
or MK4 or MAC are
the choices for those uses in humid areas if Air Conditioning
and total comfort plus low energy draw is real important.
C: The Swampy T154
has previously been popular in Moving Vehicles
as the air vents are easier to position. Now, however with the
Flex Hose Kit the MW1, MW2 & MAC
are far more popular than the T154. Also the MW1, MW2 & MAC
produce cooler air than the T154 using water only and the MAC
produces the coldest air, as it is capable of using ice or ice
substitutes. The Flex Hose Kit is normally not used except in
Moving Vehicles unless there is an
advantage in blowing air in two distant directions like in a Pop
Up Camper where you have two bunks on opposite ends.
D: One of the "Ice Water" Models are
always the choice in typically humid areas or where it is important
to keep the doors and windows closed like doing surveillance.
The MightyKool Dual models work better than the
other Swampy Icester Dual models when using
just water as explained in the above paragraph.
One gallon (3.75 liters) of water will last around two to
three hours in the daytime and four to five hours during the night
when used for evaporative cooling in dry desert climates. The
"Ice Water" models are capable of using from 10 pounds
(4.5 kilograms) up to 20 pounds (9.0 kilograms) of ice per hour,
or more, depending on the ambient temperature and day or night
operation.
A 105 Deep Cycle battery, "not being charged", allow
the MW1, MW2 to operate for 50 to 80 hours and the "Ice Water"
models like the MK3, MK4, MAC & M400 will operate for 25 to
35 hours before the battery needs charging. The Swampy Models
will operate about 8 hours before the battery would need charging
as they draw more energy.
